Wellington City Gallery A-Go-Go
A year has passed and it is with strong anticipation that we await the reopening of City Gallery in Civic Square Sunday 27th of September.
Already it has been prepared for a lovely reopening with Yayoi Kusama, a japanese artist, as the key attraction. The Gallery website has further information on the exhibition.
Already the exterior has been prepared with polka dots for the exhibition. City Gallery re-opens with a party in Civic Square starting at 12pm this Sunday. Hosted by Jo Randerson and featuring local bands, Little Bushman, Rosy Tin Teacaddy and the Hardy Ha Ha’s quite a lovely afternoon is assured.
The extension consists of the new Adam Auditorium, and on the first floor the new Roderick and Gillian Deane Gallery of Maori and Pacific art and the new reading room/AV space. Shots of the new City Gallery extension show further details.
It will interesting to see how the new Auditorium is utilised but I’m sure the summer ahead will be full of creative surprises.
